Nestled in the charming mountain town of Mentone, Alabama, Lisa and Bo’s engagement session at Camp Laney was nothing short of magical. This special place isn’t just a backdrop—it’s home. Camp Laney, a beloved boys’ summer camp owned by Bo’s family, has been a cornerstone of his life. Today, Bo works alongside his parents, pouring his heart into enriching the lives of young boys every summer. It’s also where he and Lisa now live year-round, embracing small-town life after adventures that have taken them from bustling Washington, DC, to tiny-town Alabama, and across the globe.

Their love story is one of endurance, adventure, and shared dreams. Over the years, they’ve navigated big moves, exciting international travels, and the day-to-day joy of building a life together. Lisa, a talented designer and owner of a fabulous small custom jewelry company – Sister Sister Jewelry, brought her artistry into one of the most meaningful moments of their journey—designing her own engagement ring. The result is a stunning, one-of-a-kind aquamarine piece encased in sparkling diamonds. It’s as unique and vibrant as their relationship.

Of course, no portrait session would have been complete without their sweet Bernese Mountain Dog, Indiana Bones. True to her name, Indiana stole the show in nearly every single photo, sporting a colorful floral collar and radiating charm. Whether lounging in the grass or exploring the camp trails, her presence made the day even more joyful.

From the wooded trails to the peaceful open fields, every corner of Camp Laney holds a story for Lisa and Bo. Capturing their laughter, love, and deep connection in such a meaningful place was an absolute honor. I can’t wait to celebrate with them again this September at their wedding at The McLemore—it’s bound to be just as heartfelt and unforgettable as their engagement session.
