Well my little one is the exact opposite of me in almost every way!  She looks just like her daddy (although I get some occasional nods in my directions) and she pretty much has his personality and spirit, which is a good thing/bad thing.  Given that it is the exact opposite of mine, I find it sometimes hard to understand how to handle her and how to guide her but I was not the least bit prepared for her to come home out of the blue and asked to have her hair dyed blue!  My immediate response to most things that I know she doesn’t need to do is
“ask your daddy”, cause you know daddy is the voice of reason and she listens to him so much better.  So imagine my surprise when she asked daddy and his response was, “sure”!  Bear in mind she is 8, EIGHT yes you heard me correct.  I was NOT prepared for that answer.

So fast forward a couple of weeks, of which I drug my feet on the issue and here we are… my eight year old is getting her hair dyed.  We opted for pink, cause the professionals said that would be a better route.  Here she is in all her pink hair loving glory, living it up and so full of life and spirit doing things at age eight I wouldn’t have dared to do at 18, 28 or even at 38.  She has way more spunk and creativity than I ever did and I am glad that she is in an environment where we will help her to grow those characteristics.
